Salford Young Explorers Club (Lancashire)

The team at Salford Astronomical Society is developing a Saturday morning ‘Salford Young Explorers Club’ at Salford Observatory, Chaseley Road, Salford, M6 7DZ, running from 10:00 am to noon, for younger children and their families. It will be a fun and relaxed opportunity to learn about the night sky; look through telescopes; safe solar observing; exploring the Moon, planets and stars; telescopes; new technology; and to discover the wonders of space together.

Family-friendly astronomy fun for all!

Sessions will be run for juniors (aged 6 to 11) and seniors (aged 12 to 17).

Each session will be held on alternate weeks. There are limited spaces available each week, and a booking system will be in place. Sessions will be open to any child, run all year long, and with a range of themes and activities depending on the season. You do not need to live in the Salford area to attend.

Please note that a parent or responsible adult over 18 MUST be in attendance at all times

There will be a small attendance fee per child per week, and refreshments will also be available at a nominal fee for adults.
